Johannesburg’s luxury hospitality scene is set to welcome a major new addition as Marble Hospitality prepares to launch its first five-star hotel in Sandton. The upcoming property will form part of the prestigious Olympus Sandton development, marking the brand’s move from its well-known restaurant portfolio into high-end accommodation.
The hotel, called The Marble Collection Hotel, will be an intimate 32-room boutique property designed to deliver a highly personalised luxury experience. It will occupy two dedicated floors of Tower 2, also known as the Apollo Tower, positioned just below the building’s penthouse residences.

The project is being developed in collaboration with Tricolt Group, the property developers behind Olympus Sandton, a large mixed-use development that includes residential apartments, retail spaces, and premium dining experiences. Construction began in late 2025, with completion expected toward the end of 2027.
For Marble Hospitality, the hotel represents a natural evolution of a brand that has already made a significant impact on Johannesburg’s dining scene. Since launching Marble Restaurant in Rosebank in 2016, the group has expanded its portfolio to include several prominent establishments such as Saint, Zioux, Marble Cape Town, and Pantry by Marble, as well as large experiential events like Marble Circus.
The new hotel will integrate closely with the brand’s existing presence within the Olympus development. Guests will have access to multiple Marble-operated spaces, including a signature Marble Restaurant offering panoramic views of Sandton from the 18th floor and a Pantry by Marble gourmet store located on the ground level. Additional dining concepts for breakfast and lunch are also planned.
Interior design for the hotel will be led by Irene Kyriacou alongside renowned designer Tristan du Plessis. The design is expected to reflect Marble’s signature aesthetic, combining warm textures, curated artwork, and refined finishes that emphasise understated luxury.
According to the Marble team, expanding into the hotel industry represents a natural step forward, allowing the brand to deliver a full hospitality experience that combines accommodation, design, and culinary excellence under one umbrella.
Once completed, The Marble Collection Hotel is expected to serve as a flagship property for potential future hotel developments under the Marble brand, signalling a broader expansion of the group’s hospitality universe.
