Zareef Minty has won a national leadership show, made the Forbes Africa list and ran in the South African national elections all before he turned 25. Now 28, Zareef is a seasoned businessman in the industry of media, public relations and mobile applications.
We got an opportunity to sit with this Zareef for this Q&A session.
What’s your morning routine?
I follow a very strict routine, I’m in bed by 11pm and up by 3am, I pray, gym, shower and have breakfast all before 7am so that I have enough time to get through work for most of the day while still having a clear mind to innovate daily.
What is the one thing that has made the biggest impact in your life?
Gratitude. I strongly believe that the more grateful you are for what you already have, the more God will put on your path. God is so great.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
I see myself in public office , I see myself making a huge positive impact in Africa. I see my businesses growing exponentially. I also see myself settled down with an amazing wife and maybe my first child InshaAllah

What do you think of the youth in Africa?
I believe our youth are extremely talented, hard working and ambitious but we need to provide them with better support in the continent. Governments around Africa have to invest in developing better venture capital relationships with stakeholders all around the world. We need to spend more time on developing our youth so that we can reduce unemployment and the high rate of poverty across the continent.
Tell us more about your new book?
My latest book is called The Secret To Finding Love. The book has been endorsed by Akon, Mona Kattan and Terrence J. The purpose of the book is to help new and existing couples move towards a high quality relationship through various detailed tips. I strongly believe that it will become a best seller extremely soon.
Do you believe in power couples?
Yes I do, I strongly advocate for that. I believe a power couple goes far beyond just the basic concept of two incredible people coming together. I think it’s that but a lot more. I think it comes down to two incredible powerful people who come together and support each other’s dreams.
Favourite city in the world?
I plan to relocate to Dubai in the near future but my favourite city in the word has to be London.
What is the one quote that you live by?
I live by two:
- The more hands you shake the more money you make.
- Learn from yesterday, live for tomorrow and dream of tomorrow.
